Program
Culture Informed Care (CIC©) is a cloud curriculum about ethical caregiving highlights the vital influence of culturally diverse practices and belief systems on ethical service provision. The program is available on UnitusTI, an electronic therapy records system with a wealth of resources available to subscribers.
CIC© examines a broad scope of populations, proposing ethical considerations around ability, gender expression, religious, socioeconomic status, neurodiversity and more. This extensive cross section of subject matter examples makes CIC©’s content relevant and adaptable to a wide range of disciplines.
Created with students, therapists/clinicians, practice owners and educators in mind, CIC© keeps providers informed and equipped for compassionate caregiving.
The content is also invaluable for family members and caregivers who want to stay abreast of best practices for supporting a loved one.

CIC© Overview
An introduction category consisting of four guided videos allows users to meet the author, hear about the program content, and learn how to navigate through the program.
​
Users can then work through 10 content categories, each beginning with a pre-assessment that creates a space for users to introspect on their personal points of view.
​

CIC© Content
The 10 content categories contain 3-6 sections users can progress through in any order and at their own pace.
​
Categories topics range from language, dress, and gestures, to managing threats, exclusion, celebrating host culture and more.

CIC© Format
Every content category is laid out in the following way:
-Information is provided via an embedded video
-A Case Study, taken from real practice experience, is presented for modelling the inclusion of cultural considerations in support and care

CIC© Format
-An Open-field Response section permits users to reflect on the case study provided and practice with one of their own (no pen or pencil required! Answers can be written directly into the program) and
-A Wrap Up and post assessment solidifies information presented
